Learn To Be Still

As the Eagles song goes:
Learn to be Still

I have a friend who lives here in my hometown and he takes EVERY slight to to the town as a personal affront. Sidewalks cracked? Trash overflowing? Town grass need to be cut? He’s on the phone with someone. While I agree that the way the town looks is a reflection on the community, no ONE person is responsible for its upkeep. All getting worked up does is increase your stress level. The other night I THOUGHT I was in for the night. At 730 PM my phone rang and it was my friend asking me to come down with my camera to photograph two overflowing trash cans.

In the grand scheme of things, this issue is a non issue. I told him that by the morning ALL the trash would likely be picked up and was it REALLY worth the effort to do this?

It’s a shame that he can’t let these little things go. I just have to be grateful that I’ve learned my lessons. The only thing I can do is live my life and show my friend through my own experience how my life has changed since I no longer take every slight to heart.

We can’t fix every issue that crops up. We shouldn’t have to. Everyone MUST remember:
Not everything is your responsibility.
Sometimes it helps if you Learn to be still.
Sometimes it helps if you Let go and Let God.

Be Happy! Be Well! Be Positive!
